Disappointment in Appointments

Nothing much to blog today
Coz meetings flooded my entire day
Two in the morning, two in the evening
What’s on at night? Yup! Another meeting!

Is Corporate life just full of meetings? I still vividly remember the good old days in primary school where we can all make a decision by at the spur of the moment…no need to meet up, brainstorm for an hour, debate over the brainstorming ideas for another hour, criticize each other for another hour, before deciding something….

It’s getting late anyway…better go off then….don’t want to be late for my….erm, what else..meeting! Will write more when I feel more sane in the head

Joke of the Day:

A Lutheran minister gets stopped for speeding. The state trooper smells alcohol on his breath and then he sees an empty wine bottle on the floor, and he says, “Sir, have you been drinking?”

And the minister says, “Just water.”

The sheriff says, “Then why do I smell wine?”

And the minister looks down at the bottle and says, “Good Lord, He’s done it again!”

7 – Days to Alicia Keys’ World Tour Concert in Stadium Negara on 1 Oct 2004, 8pm. Good to note that she didn’t overlook Malaysia…but the publicity department for the concert ought to take some lessons from the Petaling Street peddlers.

46 – Unbeaten match streak of Arsenal on the line against the blue part of Manchester this weekend. Go City!

64 – Strokes under par by current world No. 1 golfer Vijay Singh in the first round of the 84 Lumber Classic, pushing him to lead the entire pack by 3 strokes. Can this guy get any better? One of my leading candidates for Sportsman of the Year, together with Roger Federer, Michael Phelps and that Schuey guy (awkkk..dunno how to spell out choking sound?)

313 – Billionaires in USA (source: Forbes magazine). And still no hurricane shelter or mechanisms built or bought. Go figure.

Killer Banana Breakfast

Category: Beverages
Servings: 2

An extremely healthy breakfast that is guaranteed to jolt you up in the morning as you prepare for work or school (if you survive, that is..)

Easy to prepare and cheap too! Origin of name came from various undislcosed testimonials:

“This thing almost killed me!!!”
“I’m gonna kill the person who recommended me this!…”
“It’s a killer concoction.Yay. Can I have my money now?”

Valid life insurance policy
Transport with enough petrol to nearest hospital
At least one driver for the above
Mental blockage that emptied your sense of reasoning

LIST (if the list above didn’t deter you..):
4 bananas (for 2 servings…add on if necessary or high liao..)
Cocoa powder (milo also can lah..since this is Malaysia..:p)
Full Cream Milk (Refrigerated)
Regular teaspoon
Hot Water

1. Blend the 4 bananas using the blender (remember to peel first hah…and throw skin away properly..). Blend till fine fine
2. Also, add some water so that it would be easier to blend…not too much though…afterwards all nutrients
3. Meanwhile, add hot water (freshly boiled) to cocoa or milo…about 1/4 cup will do…the more ‘kow’ the better..
4. Empty blended bananas into empty clean glass.
5. Use the teaspoon to flow about 1/4pt of hot cocoa/milo layer on top of blended banana
6. Quickly take the cold milk and repeat No. 5,—> create a layer of milk (about 1/4 pt also) on top of the cocoa/milo
7. If you followed everything right…you should get something that looks like the Cameroonian flag.
8. Now, say your prayers coz breakfast is ready!…

Note: Pls try at your own risk..and make sure all ingredients used have not expired..;P

What, Me Worry?

3rd day stuck with this embarassingly contentless site. Still trying to get used to the deeper intricacies of this wonderful facility…..dunno what happened today but I can’t seem to display my homepage ……sigh….just when I was starting to get addicted to posting up more silly stuff!..

What, Me Worry? cames to mine moments ago….btw, this is the tagline from MAD Magazine (yes, I grew up reading MAD….it figures now…). Anyhow, must be some glitch in the system that I should not worry too much about…hah!

Is there some diabolical conspiracy in the works to prevent me from posting up my ‘secrets’ ? Those earth-shattering, political-corrupting, individual-humiliating stuff that I will endeavour to put up week after week?!!.. hmmmmmmmm

Other personal matters….been quite busy today after my business trip in Kuantan yesterday….don’t think I’d be able to write much then. Mom’s coming down today from Ipoh *yay* miss her much *sniff sniff* ;D

Other ramblings: Amazing Race ended yesterday…yup that super fun reality show that takes us around the world finished with (spoilers ahead….too late!!) Chip and Kim winning the last leg to go home with US $ 1 mil. Wow. They beat ‘villians’ (but incredible competitors) Colin and Christie and ‘too-nice-to-be-true’ Brandon and Nicole. can’t wait for AR 6 to begin soon! Till then..Malaysian Idol shall have to do….ah well..

DVD Review: Quantum Leap – The Complete First Season

“Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and Vanished…He woke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.”

With a premise like that, it is not hard to see why and how this TV series went on to become one of the Top 25 Cult Sci-Fi TV shows of all time. Spanning 5 seasons from 89 till 94, it was loads of joy for me to finally see it come out on DVD!! One of my favourite shows OF ALL TIME, I practically grew up from my youth to adolosence watching Sam leaping around in time, helping people and putting circumstances right (with Al’s help, of course!), enjoying the unpredictability he faced each week as he leaped into diverse personas (eg. a pilot, a boxer, a cowboy, an English lit professor, a Mafia hitman, and even an elderly black man in segregated ’50s Alabama!).

The show became more daring in the later seasons when good ol’ Sam even started leaping into women, a chimpanzee, a boy with down syndrome, a vampire, even Lee Harvey Oswald (gasp!).

Although produced wayyyyyyyyyyy back in the late 80s, all of its episodes always made me feel excited and happy. What made the show so enduring and lovable are the crisply written scripts, outrageous sets (it’s different for every episode!!), the chemistry between Scott Bakula (Sam) and Dean Stockwell (Al), and of course its occasional ‘kisses’ with history. We see his brushes with young Michael Jackson and Buddy Holly, relive the North Eastern blackout in 65, etc.

It is science fiction written at the highest level and I simply can’t wait for Seasons 2 – 5 to come out!

Product Details:
Discs: 3 (8 episodes, including the 2 hour pilot)
Note: It was first screened as a mid-season filler, thus the reason for the ‘few-episodes’ box set. Following seasons have 22 episodes each..
Extras: 20min commentary of the main cast reminiscing about the series; Episode trivia commentary fo each episode; and some Easter eggs of (what else?!!) more commentaries!!

Not enough TIME to tell you more but this series is a definite MUST SEE!

The journey begins…

One small blog from me….
Oh how much more disturbed you readers will be…
To bear with the ramblings of one sick in the mind..
Unless of course you too are of the same kind!..

Hmm…kinda new to this Multiply site and blogging…site is still a little bare…so pls bear with me a little while longer as I start to get the hang of this and start to post up more stuff ok?

For starters, this is theВ my very FIRST blog entry on this site….marking and launching 21 Sep 2004 as the official birthdate of this site and journal, created out of boredom this afternoon….which is quite rare actually…to have so much free time today….hmmmm, dunno if this is good or bad.

Anyway, many thanks to Pammy, who indirectly introduced me to this wonderful world of Multiply (make mental note to add her as a friend later…if only I figure out how first…ho hum) when she forwarded the link to the pixx of the Three Trees Musical.

Oh well……better start getting busy at work…or least project that ‘busy-working’ mannerisms and actions. Hope to keep this up, and do come back to read and see more of me!…

Take care now…bye-bye then..
